What is Domain Locking?

Domain Locking is a feature that helps prevent domain theft, hijacking or other fraudulent transfers of domain name.

When Domain Locking is enabled, any requests to transfer the domain to another registrar or hosting company will automatically fail.  Domain Locking must first be disabled before any transfer can be processed.

All domains registered with Doteasy will be locked by default. With the Domain Locking service, you can control your domain by locking or unlocking it any time through your domain control panel. Alternatively, you will need to submit unlocking request to us each time you wish to unlock your domain.

On the application form:

If you wish to add the domain locking service to your new domain purchase, simply check the Domain Protection option. Otherwise, check the Unprotect option to continue your purchase without the Domain Locking service. The Domain Locking service will remain in effect as long as your domain is active with Doteasy.

In Member Zone:

You can also order the Domain Locking service in your Member Zone.
