How do I insert Meta Tags into my web pages?

To successfully register your site with the search engines involves Meta Tag placement. You can place a snippet of HTML in your pages to ensure they are cataloged correctly by the search engine. There are two tags of particular importance since they provide a description and keywords for your site. They are provided below:

<META NAME="description" CONTENT="Your Web site description">
<META NAME="keywords" CONTENT="individual, keywords, here">

Both tags should exist before any HTML content, preferably between the <HEAD> tags. The content of the "description" tag will display in the search engine results after the query is performed. The individual "keywords" will be used by the search engine to pull up your site.

The below example illustrates both Meta tags used for a beef stew Web site:

<HEAD>
<META NAME="description" CONTENT="How to cook beef stew">
<META NAME="keywords" CONTENT="cook, beef, stew, recipe">
<TITLE>My Beef Stew Recipe</title>
</HEAD>
