1. Using FTP to upload or edit your files. If you are using FrontPage to design and upload your files, we recommend that you upload and edit your files with FrontPage only other than uploading files to your CGI-BIN. WS_FTP is particularly dangerous to use as it leaves a “WS_FTP.log” file in each directory. This file can cause the FrontPage Extensions to corrupt as they do not know what do with it.
2. Running CGI scripts. FrontPage Extensions can become corrupted when running certain CGI scripts and also may damage the script itself.
3. Editing the ‘.htaccess’ file. FrontPage uses “.htaccess” files. Editing your .htaccess file may corrupt your FrontPage Extensions.
4. Reaching your maximum storage quota. For files your publish, FrontPage duplicates certain information into hidden files. This adds “overhead”, thus increasing the storage space required for your files.
If you are experiencing problems with your FrontPage Extensions, you will need to contact us for further investigation. If upon further investigate it is confirmed that your FrontPage Extensions are corrupted, we will need to have them reset for you. This will require you to republish your web files to the server.
