How do I transfer my hosting services to another company?
In order to point your domain to your new web host, you will need to make the necessary DNS changes.
If your domain is registered with Doteasy:
Login to your Member Zone and select the Change Web Host function.
Then, enter in your new primary and secondary hostname information as provide by your new web host.
DNS changes may take up to 48 hours to fully take effect.
Please note that changing your DNS settings does not automatically terminate your Doteasy web hosting services or hosting account. To cancel your Doteasy hosting services, please send your account termination to us using the Contact Us form.
If your domain is not registered with Doteasy:
You will need to contact your domain registrar to make the necessary DNS changes.
Again, if you no longer need your Doteasy web hosting services, you will need to submit an Account Termination request via our Contact Us form.
Once the DNS changes have taken effect, you will not be able to access your web files on your Doteasy server using ftp.yourdomain.com. If you are planning to use the same webfiles and do not have a backup copy on your computer, make sure you retrieve your webfiles prior to making any DNS changes. This applies to Doteasy emails as well.
